  • How to Use

    There is more than one way to use Mumtaz Dal Masala Spice Mix

     Here’s an easy cooking tip for 200g of Dal.

    1. Wash 200g of lentils thoroughly and soak for 15-30 minutes (optional). 
    2. Cook the Lentils - Add the lentils to a pot with 800ml of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until soft (20-30 minutes).
    3. Prepare the Spice Base (in a separate pan) - Heat 3-4 tablespoons of oil or ghee in a pan. Add 1 chopped onion and 2 minced garlic cloves, and saute until slightly golden. Then, add 2 tablespoons of Mumtaz Dal Spice Mix with a dash of water. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
    4. Combine in a Large Pot & simmer—Pour the spice base into the pot with the cooked lentils. Add salt to taste and mix well. Simmer until your desired consistency.
    5. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander. Serve hot with naan, chapati, or rice, and enjoy your perfect homemade Mumtaz Dal Masala.

    Note: Adjust the spice level according to your preference by increasing or decreasing the amount of Mumtaz Dal Masala Spice Mix.
